after three days of driving through seven states, we finally made it to south florida! gus and sophie did beautifully--they got along fine, they logged some serious dvd/psp time, and they didn't really start with the "are we there yet?" until the third day. we arrived to our hotel on the beach in time to play in the surf with a very relieved rich (he'd rather drive with us so he can monitor my speed...), then ate incredible modern mexican cuisine for dinner. yum.
let the much-needed thawing begin!
